In 1991, Ferrari updated the Testarossa and renamed it the 512TR. Pininfarina made some subtle changes to the exterior of the new car. The most obvious change is the one-piece nose incorporating a smaller, more rounded front grille, new flush mounted auxiliary light assemblies and two ducts in the body colored airdam. The new ducts fed cold air to the front brakes. The black grille now fed the air conditioning condenser. Airflow from the front over the rest of the car was thus improved.
